Trainer's Bio
John Thompson MA, M.Ed, CDP
John Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Western Washington University, a Master of Arts degree in mental health counseling from Chapman University and a Masters in Education in school counseling from City University. He is also a certified Chemical Dependency Professional in the State of Washington.
Mr. Thompson has more than twenty years of experience as a therapist and has worked in diverse settings which include Inpatient & outpatient chemcal dependence treatment, middle and high school student assistance programs, Juvenile rehabilitation, street outreach & family therapist.
John was one of three Center for Substance Abuse Treatment consultants on the MET/CBT 5 treatment expansion "Effective Adolescent Treatment" (EAT) grant. He has trained and given technical assistance to agencies throughout the United States.
Mr Thompson is a certified CSAT MET/CBT trainer, and a National Global of Individual Needs (GAIN) trainer with Chestnut Health Systems.
